If  you have been invited to a new story lately, you may have noticed a really cool new feature we call “In-email Reply”.  Essentially you will see the latest post in the email with an image (if one has been posted), and you can type a response directly into the box and click ‘Post’ and it will initiate a process to post directly on the site.  You can see how it works in the screen shot below:

The cool thing about this is that you never even have to leave your email program to contribute to storyz!  We have also made it smart, so if you have not logged in to Storyz, you are taken to the log in screen when you hit ‘Post’, and the text is grabbed and posted correctly.  If you are logged in, simply clicking ‘Post’ will post your comment and take you directly to the story.

Note that whether or not this works for you mainly depends on the security settings in your email client. We have tested it on a wide range of email clients, but in the end individual settings determines whether it works. Feel free to share your experiences with Comments in terms of how to adjust settings for various clients.

We have kept busy and created a really cool new version of our iPhone app.  Not only is it 6x faster than the original version, it is not a lot easier to use for browsing Featured or Big Storyz, as well as seeing who the Big Userz are this week.  Below are some screenshots of the app:

Celebrating the launch of our web site, we issued a press release about it.  Along with the site, we launched the ability for brands to challenge users to a game of “storyz telling” where Storyz is used as a tool for people to participate in a campaign where you can win prizes, fame, etc.  An example could be a competition like “Share your holiday” sponsored by a travel company, where you can use Storyz to show your friends pictures and video clips from your holiday, while your Storyz Pointz can actually be used for possibly winning a prize from the brand etc.

Here are some links to the articles that popped up:

I especially like this quote:  “The iPhone app is very well done and it may be an early secret to its success if it can reach a critical mass. Being able to send photo messages to anyone on your friends list is a compelling offering that should interest marketers, who can involve the community with simple challenges that go out as branded viral messages. “
